Fretta Specialty Recipe Today: Strawberry Basil Mocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries
  • 8-10 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 medium lime
  • 1 tbsp honey or simple syrup (optional)
  • ice cubes
  • 120ml soda water or sparkling water
  • fresh strawberries and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  • Wash the strawberries, lime, and basil leaves thoroughly. Hull the strawberries and slice the lime into quarters.
  • Use your Fretta Boost Self-Feeding Slow Juicer to extract fresh strawberry juice. Feed the strawberries into the juicer to get a sweet, vibrant juice.
  • In a mixing glass, add the basil leaves and a lime quarter. Gently muddle them with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release the fresh aroma and oils.
  • Pour the freshly extracted strawberry juice, lime juice (from another lime quarter), honey or simple syrup (if desired), and ice cubes into the mixing glass. Stir well to combine.
  • Fill a tall glass with fresh ice cubes. Pour the strawberry-basil mixture into the glass.
  • Top off with soda water or sparkling water for a bubbly finish.
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a sprig of basil for a decorative and flavorful touch. Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing Strawberry Basil Mocktail!

Tips:

  • For extra zest, add a splash of freshly squeezed orange juice to the mixture.
  • Chill the soda water and all ingredients in advance for the best experience.
  • You can substitute soda water with tonic water for a slightly bitter, sophisticated flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/simple syrup based on your preference.

Best With:

  • Pair this mocktail with light appetizers like caprese skewers, bruschetta, or fresh fruit salads.
  • It’s a fantastic drink for summer barbecues, baby showers, or brunch gatherings.
